My complaint is two fold. When I collected my foreign parcel at Bothasig post office, there was an extra custom duty payable - when I queried with the teller, she told me that I must pay it and then gave me a number to call to query it.
When I called the number, I was told that it was an erronous charge (someone at customs had given my hobby parts a clothing tarriff), but that I should NOT have paid or collected the parcel. The teller should have first assisted me with lodging a query.
FRUSTRATION!!! I am fed up with this post office. A few months ago when I went to collect a parcel, with a collection slip, they 'lost' it, telling me they 'think' I had fetched it already.
What next? I feel too scared to get anything from overseas again. The risk isn't it being lost in transit - but when it reaches SA being charged a fortune, or the parcel being given to someone else!!!
