My Kitchen aid stripped its plastic gear worm on the 5th occasion I used it. I have been informed that this part is not covered by the warranty & that the replacement part would cost R900! How is it possible that this part is not covered on a machine barely 6 months old & that the replacement part (a small plastic thing) costs a 6th of the purchase price of a new machine? I am bitterly disappointed in the poor quality of my Kitchen Aid - my Kenwood which I have ad for 20 years has never needed a repair or service & has been used vigorously. The Kitchen Aid is clearly not robust enough to handle bread dough. I would not recommend anyone to buy one.
