I needed a Locksmith to open my car and phoned a number in the yellow pages, which was the first name under Locksmith and uses cell phone numbers to do business. They completed the work and gave them a cash payment. I phoned them again today to get a quote on cutting of a key for my car - which the person who answered quoted me R4 000-00 for. I mentioned that I received the same key from Germany for my Mercedes at R3 600-00, I politely asked her to explain how the cutting of the key can be so expensive - she arrogantly replied that "that is the price" and put the phone down. I phoned again and a Mr Botha answered the phone I tried to explain the situation to him whereto he also abruptly replied he also orders it from Germany. My question was "can he cut the key for me? " which another Locksmith charged approx R1500-00, and he told me to take my business somewhere else. After I've put down the phone he phoned me back and asked why did I swear at him, I did not swear at him. He then started swearing at me, and I replied back. This is just a reminder to all consumers if you do business with people make sure it is a reputable company you're dealing with.
