I received a sms to contact VVM about an outstanding Edgars account. When I phoned VVM for the hundredth time, I was informed that this was for an account that was opened in 1993, but there was never any purchases or any payments made. In 1993 I was 15 years old, how on earth would I be able to open an account in my name? Now they say they amount outstanding on that account is R3 765.24. If there was never any purchases made, how is it possible to have an outstanding account? Best of all, VVM wants me to go to an Edgars branch to try and explain that to them and complete a dispute form? How ridiculous!!! I never opened an account when I was 15 years old, why should I try to explain to someone that I want to dispute that I owe them money? Being a legal institute, VVM should surely know that you can in the first place not act against someone for an account that's 20 years old. Secondly, if they did their maths, they would see that I was only 15 years old back then? I would really appreciate it if they could inform their client, Edgars that they should also wake up and get this thing cancelled and off my name immediately.
