My wife had an overdue Sterns account that was not heard of for 3 yrs. Then we received a call from MBD, and i was willing to pay. In July 2012 a Magdeline Greene Emaild me the amount outstanding, R1710. And i made arrangment to pay R200 a month. Instead, i paid R300 in August, R1000 in September, and to finish R410, 81 in October. Thinking i am done, i received a call in December atating i owe still over R100, i said that they should check that its paid up. 2 weeks later another call saying i owe over R150 now, and after much debate, i was told that it will be cleared. In January 2013, again a call, now even more money, and after which the guy also said that it will be cleared. In March 2013, i get another call, saying i owe over R200 now, and i told the lady to go back and listen to previous conversations and then call me back. She never did. Now, i get a SMS of a Section 129 Notice to force me to pay. It will be easy for me to pay, and get it over with, but the fact remains is that i owe them nothing.
