In July my mom received a call from MBD legal to pay a 15 year old HomeChoice account that we thought was paid off ages ago. We received a note to pay R254 during July month end. I paid off the balance on the 2nd of August because I thought the amount is immaterial to argue for and we didn't have any receipts showing that the account was fully paid off ages ago.

After I paid the amount, Nhlamulo called me on the 28/08/2013. I explained the whole ordeal and that I paid off the amount to which she said the amount I paid was discounted (20% discount that no one told me about). Which means 100% of the total due was R317. But after her manager Akhona intervened, they said the account is fully paid off and they made a mistake and I would receive settlement letter for the account. Which I never received.

Today, 21 Oct 2013. I received a call from Diana Simele. Telling me that I still need to pay R285. I told her to listen to my last recordings with Nhlamulo and Akhona and she said it will take time to do. She's looking at notes made and I am supposed to be paying. She was rude telling me I NEED TO PAY because they customer department raised a query on the settlment letter requested
