Hammond Pole contacted me regarding my ABSA overdraft for which I was blacklisted.
During numerous email between myself and Gerald Prince at Hammond Pole I specifically asked them what was needed to clear my name on ITC. They told me (per email) that all I have to do is to settle the account of roughly R21000. This included their legal fees. Once the account was settled they would then clear my name. That was it according to Gerald Prince.

a Few months later and my name cleared they send me an account for their fees to clear my name.

As a consumer, are they not suppose to inform me of cost beforehand after I specifically asked them what exactly was needed to clear my name?

Is there not a new consumer protection law that states that once the account has been settled, it is the responsibility of the applicant to clear the respondent's name from ITC?

I even have a letter from ABSA stating that judgement was granted due to an error on ABSA's side.

I feel that I am being treated unfairly as I did enquire of all the cost beforehand and they did not inform me of any additional costs.
