I was admitted to hospital on the 8th of April for DVT and immediately put on an injection called Clexane, which is an anti-coagulation therapy. I was given two injections a day and discharged on Thursday, only because my husband agreed to continue with the injections. On leaving the hospital they give me the Clexane to continue at home and I go home to flat on my back with leg in the air for many days to come. Then my total shock, Discovery took the Clexane I took home out of my savings, thereby wiping out my entire savings left for the year and even after the DVT treatment has been put on as a Chronic and it seems as though Clexane is a standard treatment. I understand that some OTT medication comes out of savings, but if it is continued life saving treatment carried on from the hospital and saved Discovery about 5 extra days in hospital bills, surely this needs to be considered? I called your Call Centre and enquired, I was told that I should've stayed in hospital!!!
