AT the beginning of the week I contacted the Discovery Health Call Center to speak to them about my monthly medication. I am going away on the weekend of the 27th so will not be able to collect my monthly medication before I leave.
I was told that I needed to fill in a Request for extended Supply Of Medication and email it back. Today I receive an email from Discovery stating that I cannot get my medication because i am not leaving the country.
I was never asked by the Call Center were I was going during the conversation.
I phoned today to find out what is going on and was told that the policy had changed and that I cannot get my medication from them early unless I was leaving the country.
The person at the Call Center told me that I had two options:
1) I could go to the Pharmacy and pay cash and wait for Discovery to pay me back which would leave me out of pocket while I am away.
2) I could try negotiate with the Pharmacy to see if they would give me my medication early and put the claim through at the end of the month.
What is the point then to dealing with the medical aid?
Would another medical Aid have assisted? I think its time to find out and change companies!!
