For the past 5 months I have been receiving my Atripla on my chronic medical benefit. Before that I was using Tribuse and my doctor and HIV specialist change me onto the original and not the generic as I was having side effects. The beginning of October I went to my Clicks pharmacy to collect my Atripla, just to be told by my chemist that my medical no longer pays for my medication. I then went on and called my medical aid and was informed that they only use Optripharm now to distribute our medication. i then called Optipharm and asked how long it will take for my, eds to be delivered. They told me the 04/11/2013 on the 25/10/2013. I only received my medication on the 06/11/2013.By this time I have already run out of my medication. When I opened the parcel I discovered in horror that I was sent Tribuse and not Atripla. I was never contacted by Discovery or Optipharm in this regard. Discovery has no regard for my life and their attitude is that it was my own fault contracting HIV and that they do not have to take my best interest to heart and that they can just decide to give me the inferior medication and have me suffer from side effects. I have now been without my medication!
