On arrival at the hotel on 8 Dec 2012 we discovered the municipality was cutting off the electricity between 8am and 5pm for the next few days. I was put off as would have expected to be notified of this before our arrival and given the option to stay elsewhere or to cancel our trip. I called the front desk to let them know I was unhappy and barely 20 minutes from my call the Manager offered to put us up in a nearby Guesthouse at their expense and to refund the full price of our stay. We felt this was a good compromise and were quite impressed with the quick and non-fuss action of the staff at the Hotel, who could teach their Joburg counterparts a thing or two about keeping the customer happy. We returned that evening for a meal and at the end of the meal we were met with the nice surprise that the house had taken care of our drinks tab. What a nice gesture! The staff on duty is to be commended, I think the name of the manager was Maria. She and her team were great! Big thumbs up!!
