My husband was sent for a sperm count at ampath Linmed before we went for the test I went to the rooms to find out what it will cost us as he has no medical aid. Nurse Judy helped me on the 6 of Oct 2012 when we went to fetch a container for the sample she gave me a price she said dont stres it will cost you R680. I said it is affordable and he will bring the sample during the week On the 12/10/2012 we took the sample to her and she confirmed the price a month later I got the suprise of my life an Invoice for R1593.20
I went to her with the invoice she almost had a haert attack she said she will follow it up with the Pathologist why the account is this much. she then phoned and tell me that they did some additional tests. Wewould have to pay this i told her i am sory but how can they just decide if its a private patient that they will be willing to pay all this extra. after more than 6 calls we did not resolve this problem.we dont have the funds to pay the account thats why we ask before we did the tests.
