Recently Discovery Vitality introduced Woolworths as one of the healthy food benefit partners. Disappointingly this was apparently only introduced for a selected group of Vitality members. On investigating further, I found that the benefit was only allowed to those on selective health plans (needless to say its the more expensive of the options). I have been a Diamond status member since the status was introduced. At no point was Vitality benefits dependent on your health plan and should not be as we are paying for this as a separate benefit and the rate is the same across the board. The cover story now seems to be that this is on trial for 2013 and if it takes off it will be available in 2014. When I downgraded from classic comprehensive to classic priority and now to classic core, I was not informed that the plan type would effect vitality benefits. In my opinion you are discriminating against those that have lower end plans and do not value us as customers. How many of those that you are offering the benefit to hold a high vitality status? The idea of allowing the benefit to certain health plans is grossly unfair. Discovery has reached a new all time low with this move.
