I have been a member of Ingwe/Momentum since 2008. Today i received an sms from debt collectors saying that i owe my doctor, Dr Akerele R859.13 in unpaid medical bills. When I asked the doctor he said that he had not paid the bill that being the reason why the bill has been sent to me. These bills are from 2009 and 2012. was never notified of such! I do not understand how these three out of the many doctors visits have not been paid by the medical aid, especially when these were visits to the campus doctor (at Wits University) a doctor whom is recommended by the medical aid. I sent an email to Momentum and was told I will only get a response in 48hours. For me to be hounded b debt collectors is unacceptable considering I pa every year to have covers such as visits to general practitioners not even specialist visits paid for. I have not used my medical aid this year but i am already scared that if i do you will not pay for it. I hardly visit the doctor so i do not see how you could raise the excuse that I had maxed out my cover. very poor service part and it is a shame that i have already paid for the year.
