I joined Discovery on the 1st Feb 2013, before joining i was advised there would be a waiting period for myself and my husband but not my daughter, which i was fine with, a week before the membership kicked in I called and spoke to a consultant regarding the plan, he advised me that there was no waiting period, so i went to the Dentist and looked like a fool because I had no funds available as there was a waiting period, So I had to fork out money for the visit. I called Discovery that was the beginning of Feb, they said they would listen to the calls, after a month of calling trying to sort this out, the original guy i spoke to called me to apologise that he had given me the incorrect info, but there was nothing that discovery could do to resolve this, there is a waiting period and that's it, i cant even claim for the dentist fee. I am disgusted in the service that i am getting and with a contribution of R4900 a month i would expect better. I am very disappointed in Discovery and I thought that changing medical aids would benefit my family but at this point in time i am not so sure. Every time i want to speak to a manager i get told a story. I am furious to say the least.
