I want to compliment unit manager Sister Lucy and her team for the excellent care and warm personal service provided during my stay for the birth of my son. Some of the people who stood out were: Sister Zola and Daphne at night with their assistance and advice. Sister Lynette and Mary who took care of me during the day. Sister Elmie and Margaret who worked hard to bring me back to consciousness when I fainted just before being taken to theatre. Margaret, the lady with a warm and tender demeanour who bathed my baby. These kind and genuine people who daily sow into their patients' lives are unsung heroes and they ensured that my stay was a happy and unforgettable experience.
I also want to make mention of the comfortable accommodation in the maternity ward, the cheerful decor and spacious room where I stayed which sported a warm and welcoming sunny window bunk seat for a weary dad to lay down and rest. Everything about Wilgeheuwel's Maternity ward communicates thoughtful design and personal care.
Due to this, the first memories of the birth of my precious son are ones that I will cherish.
