In October of 2012 I applied for cheap medical aid quotes over the Internet and Direct axis responded with a cheaper quote from medihelp. I found this to suit my pocket and I applied for it via direct axis. the documents were completed an sent through to direct axis and the lady advised me the I can cancel within 21 days of being accepted. A week later I was with out a job as the company decided to down scale, I called direct axis and cancelled the medical aid and my gap cover, I also sent an email to direct axis to cancel from my then work email. In January 2013 I received a rude call from Annemarie telling me that I am in arrears with the premiums and I owe them R7000. I told her that I cancelled the services last year with direct axis and she told me that I need to pay irrespective of it being cancelled and then the nightmare began with emails, sms and phone calls.
she threatened to list me for not paying. HOW IN THE CAN I PAY FOR SOMETHING I DID NOT USE, I DID NT EVEN RECEIVE ANY CARDS OR WELCOME LETTER FROM THIS COMPANY.
MY GAP COVER WHICH I CANCELLED WENT THROUGH WITHOUT PROBLEMS AND I AM STUCK WITH MEDIHELP ASKING FOR PAYMENT... HOW ABSURD IS THIS..PLEASE HELP ME.
