After a bad fall on the 1st january, i drove my husband up to Wilgeheuwel ACCIDENT and EMERGENCY room, only to find that they appeared to be understaffed as well as the non availibilty of essential services. After waiting over half an hour and then referred for x-rays we were advised that the results of the x-rays would not be available to ourselves or the doctors on duty, because it was a public holiday and no radilogist was on duty.what happens if there is a more serious injury that requires immediate attention? from what i saw this would have been able to be manageable from their side. Had i not driven my husband to this PRIVATE hospital I would have thought I was at the local SPCA!!! I took this matter up with Wilgeheuwel as we had to pay a R590 consultation fee (no problem) if my husband was attended to promptly (no one knew the extent of his injuries!)I have received the following email which I think is passing the buck as i couldnt care how LIFE hospitals appear to outsource all services. i drove to WILGEHEUWEL Hosp, someone should be held responsible!!! Karena Goldman has resp on Email saying i need to take it up with Trauma drs, it is a PDF file so I cannot paste. PATHETIC!!!
