In 2012 I joined the scheme as a student on a child rate. in Dec 2012 GEMS suspended my family's cover. After we enquired Cindy Mace alleged I didn't send them proof that im a student. The scheme claimed we were R4320 in arrears as they charged me the student/child rate instead of the adult rate for 9 months. We paid the full amount on 24/12/2012 just to regain cover while disputing the amount. I then contacted the call-centre which confirmed they did have the proof. On 01/01/2013 Gems then deducted the R4320 AGAIN. So far they have agreed to refund the first instalment of R4320 but the second amount of R4320 is being refused without any apparent reason. The credit manager Cindy Mace has changed her story 3 times regarding whatever is outstanding from my family and I cannot get a direct answer from her or her superiors. I have corresponded with Cindy Mace 8 times by email and sent the email to her team leader Craig Solomons and Financial manager Neil Vythilingam. They have thus far ignored my emails. Ignored my calls and simply refuse to correspond with me in this regard.

I find this service shocking and incompetent, I just want what Im paying for!
