My son and I went to a ophthalmologist on the 10th of Feb an paid cash. i submited both invoices with proof of payment with a total of R1600 to the mdeical aid on the the 14th of Jan. My son's claim of R415 was paid over a week later. But my invoice of R1185 was not refunded.
i phoned the medical aid and a lady called Vaffie informed me that they paid the money to the doctor, and i must wait until the 6th of Feb for the money to be paid... over a week from now
Now i sit over a R1000 out of pocket because some incompetent accounts clerk decided to pay a clearly marked "paid in full, please refund patient" invoice to the doctor. All i'm getting now is endless apologies that do not put money back into my account
