I went for Slim Lipo treatment for my axillary hyperhidrosis at Precision Aesthetics in Midrand, with Dr Ching. I was told the surgery would be permanent and once-off. The Doctor was acutely aware that I was planning on moving to Cape Town within around 2-3 months after the surgery. Not ONCE during the entire consultation process did the Dr inform me that there was a reasonable risk that I would have to have a SECOND REPEAT PROCEDURE about 3-4 months after the initial operation. Needless to say, my sweating ALL returned as if i had NEVER had the operation just over 3 months after the surgery. However, by this time, I was already leaving for Cape Town in about a week, and so it would be impossible for me to have the second operation!
Dr Ching KNEW I was moving, but NEVER told me about likely having to have a repeat procedure done. He was visibly unhappy and uncomfortable that i was leaving soon, but he told me it was because he needed me for check ups to remove stitches and check the operation was successful, not cause I may need a 2nd operation!
IF I HAD KNOWN, I would have clearly made the responsible decision to NOT have the op done in JHB, but wait till CT, WHICH HE KNEW!
