I found Mountain View B & B/Self Catering on the website while searching for a place to stay in Ladismith, Western Cape, SA. I did send an email making enquiries in October 2013. The response was fast and good with promises that a unit is available. I called again on Sat 4th Jan to confirm that we will be there on Tuesday 7th and again on Tuesday enroute - was promised it is all ok. Arrived at the unit - what a shame! Had to walk a pathway to the front door through the leaves, house smelled rank, dusty and dirty, fridge not switched on, tv not working, furniture in bad state! When I complained we were spoken to as if it is our fault and they cant do anything about the state of the place. We were told that they do not know where people are going to stay and they have so many places surely if I book a place and get charged that much, then the owner/manager must know which unit have been booked for me. It is up to them to ensure the place is clean and ready for their guests! We were given rooms in the B/B finally after the complaints which was in much better state only to be told by a staff member the next morning when we went for b/fast that we cant eat!! Appalling serv and attitude
