Liberty Medical Scheme
Waiting period imposed unfairly

I changed over to Liberty Medical Scheme effective 1 January 2013.
For the record, I have had medical aid cover from the day I was born, with proof. I was honest with my application and paid all the necessary fees. My broker assured me that because I have been on a medical aid, there will be no waiting period.

According to LMS, I need to be on a waiting period. In an attempt to have the waiting period revoked (because I feel it is unfair, and was assured otherwise through my broker), I have submitted documentation requested numerous times, my broker has tried assisting me, and LMS' response is 'we may impose a waiting period by law'.

I would not have changed medical aid's had I known I would be penalized with a 3 month waiting period.
I have been given various reasons by various people for the waiting period imposed, namely: 1) 'because I am a principle member' 2) because of pre-existing medical conditions 3) no proof supplied of previous medical aid cover and so it goes on.
LMS request information which has already been submitted (if they read the documentation, they would see it!).
I am starting to feel that moving to LMS was a huge mistake, if this is how it starts, whats next?
