Netcare
Offensive remarks

In the early hours of this morning, I accompanied my neighbor to hospital because she was experiencing a substantial amount of pain in her arm. We waited nearly an hour for her to get triaged, which I found odd considering that all other patients had already been tended to and the nurses were sitting around. We were moved to the POP room, I assume because all the shades were drawn in the casualty beds so it was full. My neighbor was on the phone when the doctor rudely interjected that she must switch off her phone. She proceeded to do so without hesitation. She was examined by a white female doctor (I think her name is Dr Parks). As she was writting the perscription and referral letter, a nurse came in to administer the injection. She was unkind as my visibly nervous neighbor was scared of the injection and didn't do enough to put her at ease. When the doctor came back into the room, she commented "hmmmmmh it smells like fish" I have no idea what she meant by that, but I felt quite offended by it. I have never experienced such unprofessionalism from this hospital and I do hope something is done soon. We pay for medical aid so as a paying customer we expect value and professionalism
