Hidden limits appear suddenly, always more limits

I am on the Classic comprehensive plan which is the second most expensive discovery plan.

I kept on seeing my self payment gap rise and rise and that's despite not buying any schedule 1 and 2 meds, always bringing a prescription and taking whatever I can on chronic.

So the call centre guy tells me 3 disturbing things:
1. That my savings plan is my money
2. That there is a list somewhere of preferred medicine (read: dreadful Indian made generics) that I have to find and use only pills off that or
3. My self-payment gap will keep rising if I keep using the originals for critical meds, even if the generics dont work or are specifically not prescribed by the doctor.

THERE IS THEREFORE A PER-PILL LIMIT!!

So it's my money, but I'm told how to spend it. Not by the doctor who has my health in mind, but by the medical aid that takes more than 20% of my gross salary each month.

Nowhere in my schedule of benefits is there any reference to this preferred list of meds (which I still cant find) and any provision that this is what I must use otherwise discovery does not pay

Always a hidden limit, or opt out clause somewhere. We the consumers can NEVER WIN, we just cant.
