I am an oncology patient who need to take cancer meds for the next five years un interrupted!! So to my horror I discovered that one off my meds for R4000 paid from my savings instead of. My oncology benefit. When I phoned the call centre, they advised that the meds have only been authorized my oncologist until 13 feb 2913 and that I the customer needs to phone my oncologist to phone discovery health, fax through a treatment plan before the meds can be reversed. So when I enquired why discovery's case workers cannot call the oncologist, to get the meds sorted which if common sense prevail, these meds are not going away as it is for 5 years!!! or why they did not call me let's say on the 12th feb to advise the script needs to be renewed, I was simply told by the agent that this is not the case managers job!!! Off all the years that I have been on discovery, my oncology claims have been handled the worst!!!
