Refund policy

I made a booking at Coastlands in Umhlanga in the begining of January for this weekend. My father passed away on Friday so had to cancel my reservation. I have sent them the death certificate and i was told that i STILL have to pay for one night stay as this is company policy.

Is the death of my father not a valid reason for cancellation?? Apperantly Agnes is a manger at Umhlanga Coastlands and the only superior person to her is not even in for me to speak to about this problem.
