Medshield is refusing to pay for brachytherapy (only medical aid that refuses to do so) for my fathers prostrate cancer. This treatment is not listing as an exclusion anywhere, they just flat out refuse to authorise payment. The procedure will cost R100 000 which is not a possibility for us, so basically Medshield is happy to take your money every month but when you need them most they turn their back on you! Needless to say all our family and friends that are currently on Medshield will be moving to a different medical scheme!
