Handed Over_Bonitas did not pay bill on time

My son consulted a doctor in October 2012, and Bonitas only paid the account in August 2013 (Ampath Pathology, invoice JFD 56415, R847.30). This is after I had to make numerous calls to Bonitas and Ampath for several months to facilitate the payment myself.

However, when Bonitas eventually paid for my account in August 2013, I had already been handed over to Vericred Debt Collectors on 20 May 2013 for non-payment. I now receive endless calls from Vericred to pay an account of R180.27 for being handed over as a result of Bonitas's failure to pay my bill on time.

I therefore strongly believe that this account of Vericred for me being handed over should be settled by Bonitas, as it resulted from their failure to pay the Ampath account on time. They are however refusing to pay saying that they only pay for "Medical Services"
How many other people get this treatment and get handed over due to Bonita's incompetence? Is it fair to the consumer?
