I was at the Fourways Life emergency rooms this morning with my child, all went well until we got to the doctors rooms where we had to wait more than 30mins because Dr Mampane who on duty, was on the phone talking rugby and sport. He did this in front of the patients with no care at all. When I asked the nurses when we were going to be attended they could not say but just pointed to the dr who was on the phone, with a lot of frustration, one nurse said they were not allowed to comment but that I should put my complaint in writing, which I did. When the Dr eventually stopped his telecon and came to our cubicle I told him my frustrations and disappointment at his behaviour, but he was very arrogant about it and told me that he also had a private life that he needed to sort out. It is unfortunate that it is people like Dr Mampane who will give Fourways Life a bad name. I have been to the hospital before and got excellent service, but today I left a very disappointed person and could not allow him to assess my child after the kind of unprofessional, careless and heartless behaviour he displayed in front of sick people who were there to seek professional help, and took her elsewhere.
