I have sent an email to Discovery and have not received a response for the below
The correct procedures were followed - however the authorisation for the follow up visit with the specialist after being discharged from hospital was declined - Could you please provide me with a valid reason for this?
my dad was discharged from hospital on the 3 Jan 2013 - and the attending specialist asked him to come for a follow up visit on the 24 Jan 2013.
A specialist referral form was completed and sent to discovery by the GP) and the authorisation was declined.
My dad had to go for his follow up visit at specialist on 24 Jan and had to pay cash amount of R300.00
I would like to know why this authorisation was rejected?
If follow up visits are not covered after being in hospital please send me exactly where this is stated on the Discovery website or the plan information.
