I submitted a document for authorisation to see a specialist. This was from my GP. The visist has been declined because "we do not pay for routine follow-up visists to a specialist". I called the Discovery line only to be told that the relevant people have gone home and my query canot be answered today. The call-centre agent was very polite and I do find the staff at Discovery to be good. I just hate being one of the millions - this call-centre phenomenon! The point is - this is not a routine follow-up visit - if records were checked Discovery would see I have never visited this specialist so it cannot be a routine follow-up visit. Why not call me and run through it.
