1. I am registered on the Bonitas Chronic Program, as I have a PMB chronic condition. When registering, I received from them a list of what medical services I am allowed as part of my health care. When I went for the blood tests allowed, Bonitas refused to pay for them, saying my "benefits were used up", which cannot be, as I am entitled to two blood tests per year, and this was my first one. I have now spent close to an hour on the phone with them, over a 2 week period, and still no feedback on why they are rejecting what a) they authorised and b) is a PMB condition blood test that the law says I must be covered for.
2. At the same time they rejected a visit for my son to the peadiatrician, also saying my "benefits were used up", when he is allowed one visit per year and this was the first one I claimed for.
I simply cannot afford to pay this R1000 out of my pocket, or spend more money on phone calls talking to people who cannot give me answers. Last week Tuesday I was told me query was being "escalated" and someone would contact me in 48 hours. Six days later, I have heard absolutely nothing. I am very disappointed.
