Hi have been a Bonitas Client for the past 5 years. I have been diagnosed with a cronic condition for the past 5 years and my Specialist is not part of the new scheme rules (Bonitas Specialist Network). The law says your medical aid should cover you for Chronic treatment and management. After going for my 2 yearly specialist visit the Scheme forced a co-payment for visiting my Specialist who has been my doctor for the past 3 years because he is not part of their specialist network regardless of the fact that my condition had long been registred as a chronic condition. I queried this and the schem responed by saying I must change doctors. How does this make medical sense since my history and treatment of the chronic condition is in the hand of my current Specialist? I have decided that given the number of years with the scheme and amount of money I spend on a yearly basis it is unfair to be treated in such a poor manner. Do not use Bonitas their scheme policies an not benificial at all and will cause you loss of money and a aweful headache which is bad for your health.
