My Husband was in a very bad accident Dec 2011. He wasn't on medical aid. In May 2012 I added him onto my medical aid, and asked if they'd treat his injuries in Private care, they said it would be a years exclusion of all his current injuries, which I listed, but once the year is up he'd be able to go into private care and they'd do their best to help save his legs. A year passed and all they did was pay for his ex rays, refused to give him any private care as discussed and have not, this month removed him as they and basically just got money out of me for over a year, for some xrays - that is all!!! This could mean the difference between my husband walking again and being disabled for the rest of his life!!!
They are a very bad medical aid. Due to all the stress I gave birth to my son also in May 2012, 3 month early, my placenta had torn. The medical aid called me the very next day to say they'll not pay my medical bills or my son's. Once they realised my son was in NICU they agreed to pay for him but not me. After months and I mean months of fighting I got them to pay all bills. The stress caused by them is ridiculous!
My husband is now still in Government care
