HANDED OVER FOR AN AMOUNT NOT EVEN AWARE OF

In January 2013 my husband went to Specsavers at Carnival Mall. He got his glasses and everything was fine. A lady by the name of Chantel informed him that we have no other payment as our medical covers the amount.
Now, September 2013 we got a call from Angie from Corporate cCollections informing us that the account has been handed over. Shocked I asked her why nobody ever contacted us to inform us. They gave me an address where they have posted accounts to, but this address was incorrect. They say they have sms'd us, but we never received it. The contact number they have was in for repairs from mid June 2013 until July 2013 and we were not reachable on that number but all the other numbers worked. Why do we provide husband and wife's details if they are not going to be used? We got sarcastic and unacceptable comments from Jurane. I do not see why we should pay the legal fees if we were not aware of this. The outstanding balance will be paid, but why the legal fees? This is UNETHICAL and UNACCEPTABLE.
