At least i learnt how to deal with dissapointment at kenilworth clinic. Booked myself into the DDU for my addiction problem
1) its a 21 day programme i was told over a week into would be extended by 3 days because medical aid pays 3 days for detox, i was never put on any detox so why should i stay for it.
2) i was told several times i needed to show more anger in order for them to be able to help me, eventually 14 days in i do this for the first time by not going to 1 meeting only to be asked to leave for 2 days.
3) after checking myself out after 21 days as i planned when checking in and doing what they recommended going to meetings and getting a sponsor. I decided to go to the after care which is given on a Thursday and recommended by 1 of my fellow recovering addicts, i get blocked at the door by 1 of the counsellors and told in front of everyone that i am not welcome because i checked myself out after 21 days which to them means i didn't finish the programme which is 21 days.
Their service was very generic and clearly money driven.
I am clean today and thank full for the meetings supplied by the fellowship on the outside who always show support at no cost.
