I live in Australia and needed two weeks accommodation to see my ailing mother. I booked my accommodation online via safarinow. Upon arrival I found floor tiles broken in the premier suite, I had to clean the room myself (and they had no vacuum cleaner), cupboard liners torn, sheets were dirty, cupboard handles were just screws protruding and the list goes on. When I returned on the 1st day I had to wait outside for 20 minutes as no one home to open security gate. I paid for 14 days and left after day 1 as the facilities had been totally misrepresented and was definitely not worth R500 per night.
I have asked for a full refund, however safari now say they can only refund a booking fee and the owner says she is sticking to the cancellation policy of nil back.
Please do not trust the representation on these websites and only book something that has been referred to you by someone who has been there and can vouch for the facilities and also your personal safety.
