My husband has been on the ONCOLOY program since May 2012.
My husband had to change ONCOLOGIST as he is no longer able to travel to Rosebank.
He only has a couple of months to live and is in DIRE need of pain medication.
Everything on ONCOLOGY has to be authorised (which takes from3 to 5 days) from chemo to radiation to pain killers. I battled to get the DUROGESIC (morphine) pathes authorised two months ago and finally got them. When the new oncologst prescribed the same patches it was declined REASON: The doctor is not the same as the previous authorisation.? Now I had to wait since Friday morning until last night to get patches authorised again. I can get an authorisation on the phone in 5 MINUTES to have a tooth extracted but I must wait 3 weeks for chemo, knows how long for radiation (STILL WAITING SINCE LAST THURSDAY) and so called three days for my medication. The system is so outdated it's a joke.
