I applied for a medical aid through a broker. It was a Discovery Key Care Plus. When she filled in the application she asked me if I will need to go for an OP within the next year and I said yes, I have a "cyst" on my lower back that needs to be removed. So she selected yes on the computer that I will need an OP.I do remember that there was a question about bone problems, but that did not apply to me because my problem was on my lower back and not on the bone. I went to a specialist to get the "cyst" seen to and then had to go for an OP in Feb 2013 and everything was authorized by Discovery.4 days after my OP I went to wound care and they sent a photo of my wound to Discovery for authorization and it got declined. I then received a phone call from Discovery's forensics department to tell me that my membership had been terminated due to non-disclosure from the day of activation and i will need to repay all the medical bills including seeing GP's, dentist, medication etc. I contacted the broker, she went to check the form, then saw that she made a mistake on the form. It is wrong of Discovery to authorize the procedure then only look into it afterwards & decide it is non-disclosure.
