My wife took my son to the casualty unit for stiches. However she fainted there, and banged her head quite
hard on the counter. When i got to the hospital, the doctor requested that we get a scan done as they were having trouble
reviving her. I agreed. After the scan came through, the doctor said everything was fine so they did not need to book her in.
This all happened very fast, and i had very little time to consider if discovery was going to pay or not.
the following scenarios exist.
- dont do scan, wait for discovery to authorize the emergency scan, may end up compromising wifes health
- do scan anyway (discovery dont pay because patient not checked in)(this is what happened)
- get hospital to check wife in (risk of huge cost if discovery does not pay. see option 1)
They way i look at it, any option I chose, i stood to lose.
