So much for "Maternity Confinements"

Yesterday 11/06/2013 I began having pains in my stomach (I am 28 weeks pregnant). Upon arrival at the hospital they told me that I needed to be admitted and would phone and get an emergency pre-authorisation. We were then told to pay a R1000 co payment. In the Momentum brochure I would like to quote what they say "R1000 per authorisation, except for motor vehicle accidents, maternity confinements and emergency treatments". As far as I am concerned this was both maternity confinement and emergency treatment. Anything that has to do with the baby is surely maternity? Well apparently not as their response was "we will only waiver it when she is in labour".. Needless to say I did not have the money and had to be sent home. Not very comforting when you are having stomach pains when pregnant. Was momentum going to be responsible if something happened to me or my baby?? Very disappointed with the product as I was under the illusion they were the best when it came to anything "maternity". Well I guess I was wrong!
