I bought a LG DVD player years ago which worked well for the 1st year, then suddenly refused to read DVDs. I was told that the laser had gone & it would be more cost effective to get a new one rather than repair it. My dad then replaced it with a brand that HE favors (not LG). 8 years later & that DVD player still works 100%

I now have my own home & wanted a home entertainment center. I assumed my 1st experience with LG to be a once off so I decided to go with LG again. Big mistake!

I got the 42" passive 3D LED TV & 3D BluRay home theatre system. But after 2 months of use, the TV goes faulty (strike 2). The store replaced it since they said it isn't worth repairing!

And finally strike 3 - it's now 13 months since I bought the Home theatre system & it now ejects DVDs! It plays BluRays but refuses to even read any DVDs. I have a large collection of DVDs which I now cannot use!

Regrettably, I've misplaced the invoice which renders the 2 year warranty void (I do have my bank statement which shows when & where I bought it). Now my only option is to get a stand-alone DVD player just to be able to make use of my DVDs!

No points for guessing which brand I WON'T be buying!!!
