Over the past week i have had a problem with my Ipad 2 screen. It displayed nothing but a green screen. I then went to my closet Apple Outlet store in Menlyn Shopping Center in Pretoria, when i queried the problem, the technical counter assistant told me that Apple South Africa were not authorised, to open an repair any product. he then told me that if the workshop were to give me a quote, it would be for a brand new Ipad.
So why waste so much money on something, when your only option is to throw it away. When a customer buys the product they should be told that there is no way to repair it through an "Authorised Apple Store".
However, if you go down to your local retail center, there is an Ifix store which was able to repair the problem for a minimal cost of R400 within an hour. This is such a disappointment, as well as a shame, that such a name brand known world wide would be such a let down.
I used to be an apple fan, in my household, there are 2 Iphones, 2 Ipads, 1 Ipad mini and 2 IPod touch. this is a huge eye opener and I will be taking this matter up internationally!
APPLE GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER IN SA AT LEAST!!!
