Refusal to help

I just received an iPhone as a gift from my parents.

Since starting it up a week ago it has been giving problems where it struggles to charge and it randomly switches off or restarts. This is a hassle as i miss lots off calls from work as my phone is off half the time.

I went to apple istore in Menlyn, Pretoria to ask advice or help on what steps to follow to resolve the issue

The first question i am asked is where did we buy the iPhone. When we said in a different country they flat out refused to help.

As far as i'm concerned apple is a international brand and any apple store should be able to help with any apple product. The people would not even tell me who i could contact for help. i was just told we cant help and no one in south africa can either so just leave. as we are busy
