INCREDIBLY POOR RESPONSE

The rim of the drum on my LG top loader washing machine melted during a washing cycle. I noticed an extremely load noise and burning smell coming from my washing machine. When I switched it off, I noticed that the rim around the top of the drum had melted. I called LG and they sent a technician to inspect, but he could not tell why this had happened. As my machine is still under warranty, they repaired the machine, but have failed to inform me why this happened, and whether this could happen again. I'm extremely unhappy, as this is not normal wear and tear, and as such am not happy that LG feels that I'm not entitled to an explanation. I even offered to pay in extra money to buy a bigger machine if they would take to machine back. They flatly refuse, and now I'm extremely nervous that the same problem could occur. Would never buy LG products ever again.
