I recently replaced the toner for my Samsung CLX-3185FW printer. I followed the Samsung PC application's instructions on buying consumables and I purchased original Samsung products online. Only when I installed them did I discover that toner purchased in one country does not work with a printer purchased in another (although the Samsung product codes are identical). This is not documented anywhere on the Samsung web site or in the manual. It does not serve or protect the consumer in any way - it simply protects Samsung's distribution channel and lines their pockets. This behaviour is duplicitous, anti-competitive and failing to reveal/document this limitation violates local consumer protection laws.
