TV life span, long processes

Basic a bought a Samsung 32" LCD Tv 3 years ago, and now it packed up on the 2013/10/29. On the 2013/10.30 i took the TV to an authorised repair agent and upon accessing the Tv was told that the screen and main board is the problem and it can not be repaired. I called Samsung that afternoon and logged a depreciation claim whereby you pay in an amount and they supply you with a new TV. i was informed that it would take some time to sort out but I never expected to wait this long, it's now 2013/12/03 and documents have only today gone to thier head office for approval. I do know that the wheels in big companies take a long time to turn but really this is ridiculous. It's now 5 weeks and I still do not have a TV. It took me all of 1 day to make the payment, and now it seems that they have my money and are telling that there is nothing I can do but sit and wait. I just have the feeling that they are holding me to ransom. If it was going to be a problem why did they not just give me a credit and then I would have gone and bought another TV.
