Feedback would be nice!

I upgraded my contract and received a new Samsung Galaxy S4 in mid to late September of this year.
One morning, the phone went berserk (less than 2 months old), pressing the bottom of the touchscreen over and over again. After that, the bottom of the screen stopped working entirely. I took the phone in on the 8th of November and left it with the smart care centre so they could repair it. Since then, I have phoned REPEATEDLY to find out what has happened to it. The response I initially got was, the parts have arrived and it has been booked in at a technician, but the technician hasn't contacted me at all. When I dropped the phone off, I asked that if there are any problems they must contact me (I left my mother's cell number and landline, as well as my husband's cell number).
Today, the phone number of the smart care centre has only been answered once. When I got through, the girl on the other end promised to find out what had happened, but again I have heard nothing!

What the is happening with my phone?!
