I visited the Unisa campus today for the first time, as I'm considering undertaking a course of study. After speaking to a student counsellor, I was advised to go to Student Administration to find out about course credits (a legitimate enquiry, I presume). The gentleman who helped can be described as incredibly bored at best - or incredibly rude at worst. From the moment I got to the window, he displayed his abject boredom and irritation, playing with his stapler, staring at the ceiling and repeatedly rolling his eyes at every question I asked. He was so disgustingly rude about something that is a MAJOR life step for any person (not to mention a HUGE financial commitment), that I actually told him that his attitude was terrible. It has left a horrible taste in my mouth, and a terrible impression of your establishment. I think this man (sadly he was not wearing a name tag, but he was a chubby coloured guy with a shaved head) should be relegated to a role where he never has to deal with the public. FYI, I tried to phone Unisa directly with my complaint, but there is no-one listed on the website to deal with such matters. Upon phoning Student Administration, I received no reply.
